Sinus Drainage Massage

Breathe Better with Sinus Drainage Massage Sinus drainage massage is a specialized massage technique that very few massage therapists have direct training in. This type of massage helps promote drainage of the sinuses from six sinuses located on the face. After treatment, clients feel less pressure in their nasal passages and face, and often experience fewer sinus headaches, better sleep, and an overall improvement in their ability to breathe well. If you suffer from sinusitis or deep congestion, a sinus drainage massage can help you gain some much-needed relief. Plus, you can easily add it to any regular massage, allowing you to double the treatment benefits you gain from a single session at Urban Massage & Wellness.

What to Expect from Sinus Drainage Massage

How the Treatment Works

Sinus drainage massage is a specific treatment that uses several tools and techniques to clear and drain the six facial sinuses. Your therapist will use precisely placed hot towels, cold packs, and eucalyptus essential oils throughout the treatment. These tools help loosen up your sinuses, while the deep tissue massage facilitates the complete drainage of them. The unique combination of oil, hot and cold temperatures, and massage helps eliminate congestion and create better flow-through in the sinus passages.

During the Appointment

Your appointment will begin with a consultation so your massage therapist can learn more about your symptoms and concerns. For the treatment, you will be asked to lie down face-up on the massage table. Your therapist will be seated above your head and will begin by applying a warm towel to the face to begin loosening up the mucus in the sinuses. Using a combination of hot towels, cold packs, facial and scalp massage,

After the Appointment

What You Should Know Before You Book an Appointment

Book in Advance

We ask all clients who would like to receive sinus drainage massage to book their sessions 24 hours ahead of time. We need extra time to properly prepare the hot towels and cold packs so that they are the perfect temperature for your sinus drainage massage. You can easily select the option when you book a massage treatment online or mention it to our receptionists when you call to make your next appointment.

No Makeup

We recommend that our clients do not wear makeup to their sinus drainage massage appointments. Wearing makeup can diminish the effectiveness of the treatment and stress the skin. We use heat, cold, and oils throughout the massage, which can smear your makeup.
